SoMe Index, week 25

Welcome to an updated version of SoMe Index!

You can now view SoMe Index in Swedish and French in addition to English. The language menu is located in the top right corner of the SoMe Index front page.

This week, we’ve got Ilta-Sanomat on top in Finland with rival tabloid Iltalehti and public broadcaster Yleisradio coming in second and third respectively. Broadcaster MTV is ranked fourth and daily newspaper Helsingin Sanomat wraps up the top five.

In Sweden, Newsner gives way after staying on top for four weeks in a row, allowing tabloids Expressen and Aftonbladet to claim top positions while Newsner comes in third. We’re seeing strong engagement across the top three with a significant gap to the rest. ViralKing.se and public broadcaster SVT wrap up the top five.

TV 2 remains untouched still in Norway with the top three – TV 2, NRK, VG – remaining unchanged. Dagbladet.no comes in fourth and Nettavisen fifth.

Football frenzy remains strong in France, with sports site L’EQUIPE staying on top with a massive 2.3 million total engagement. 20 Minutes holds second place, followed by sports site Football.fr at rank three. Broadcaster BFMTV has been pushed down to rank four this week, with broadcaster France 24 coming in fifth.

Finally, let’s take a look at some of the top posts from last week.

Ilta-Sanomat provides us with the top Finnish post of the week, covering a legislative change banning smoking in a car when minors are present. The story has over 21500 On-Post engagement and another 20000 Web Shares, for a total of 41500+ engagement. Ilta-Sanomat has had a good week – the top three news stories of the week belong to them.

Swedish SportExpressen’s native image of Iceland manager Lars Lagerbäck (apparently so hot he is also known as Lasse Lava) has earned more than 42500 On-Post engagement.

This heartwarming story by TV 2 Nyhetene tells us about 20-year-old Syrian Lilas receiving 15 top grades on her diploma after spending only three and a half years in Norway.  10500 On-Post engagement along with 22000 Web Shares gives the story a total engagement of 32500.

BuzzFeed France’s native video is the best performer of the week in France, with a massive 4.7 million views and 161000 On-Post engagement. No Web Shares here, as there is no link leading back to the BuzzFeed website.

That’s all for this time – see you here next week!
